RUss' BaCKGROUND
Russ Crites is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). He is also a Board Certified Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (NBCCH) and a Certified Professional Coach (CPC). He holds several other certifications.
He graduated from Abilene Christian University with a master's degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology. While working on a doctorate, he completed the necessary coursework to obtain his License in Marriage and Family. He loves working with couples to help them work through issues and rekindle love in their relationships. He has written several works and assessments that provide resources to help couples heal and improve their relationships.. Russ also loves working with adults who have ADHD, anxiety or stress, depression, bipolar disorder and more. He has also written many works that address these issues.

Russ also did post masters work to obtain his license as a Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). That license allows him to work with public schools doing psychological testing, behavioral management, individualized behavior plans and behavioral IEP’s for students. Russ has worked with students in public/private schools for over thirty years providing these services. As a result, one of his strengths is working with students who have school related issues.
His specialties include working with children who have ADHD or ADD. School Phobia. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Bipolar Disorder. Depression. General Anxiety & Stress. Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Conduct Disorder. He also helps students learn how to study more efficiently so that they can improve grades and much more.
Being a licensed counselor, Russ prefers to utilize Family Systemic System therapy to treat many childhood issues. However, he is trained in several other therapeutic modalities.. In addition to traditional treatment, Russ utilizes biofeedback to address stress, anxiety, ADHD or ADD issues, e.g., inattention, off task, focusing issues (effective with anyone who is struggling with executive function issues).
Russ does Video Chat, has two private office locations, and continues to provide services for schools utilizing his License as a Specialist in School Psychology.
